Our doors are made from Accoya, selected for its durability, dimensional stability and resistance to rot and decay. Each door is made to suit the individual property, allowing the proportions, panel configuration, glazing, colour, ironmongery and traditional detailing to be tailored to the existing architecture.
Depending on the condition and design of the existing joinery, we can manufacture and install a completely new door and frame or, in suitable cases, retain and restore the original frame and fit new double glazed timber doors within it. This means the solution can be based on what the property genuinely needs rather than automatically replacing everything.

Not every door project requires the same approach.
Where the existing timber frame is in good condition and suitable for reuse, it may be possible to retain and restore it before fitting new double glazed timber doors. This can help preserve more of the original joinery and reduce unnecessary replacement.
Where the existing frame is deteriorated, unsuitable or a completely new opening/design is required, we can manufacture a new timber frame alongside the new door or French doors.
The best approach is determined following a survey of the existing joinery, allowing us to consider condition, proportions, glazing requirements, security and the overall character of the property.
Because each door is made to order, the glazing and finishing details can be selected around both the practical requirements and appearance of the property.
Glazing options can include clear double glazing, privacy glass and decorative glazing, with specialist options considered where appropriate. Colours and ironmongery can also be selected to coordinate with existing windows, interior finishes or other architectural details.
For properties with traditional features, careful attention can be given to panel proportions, glazing bars and period-style furniture so that improved performance does not come at the expense of character.
Every project begins with a detailed survey so we can assess the existing opening, frame condition and design requirements.
The new Accoya joinery is then manufactured to the agreed specification, including the chosen glazing, colour and ironmongery. Where an existing frame is being retained, the required restoration and preparation work is incorporated into the installation plan.
On site, the existing door or joinery is carefully removed as required and the new door is installed, adjusted and finished with the selected locking system and furniture. Final checks are carried out to ensure the doors open, close and secure correctly and that the installation is properly finished around the surrounding structure.
Where certification or Building Regulations requirements apply, these are dealt with as part of the installation process.
