As part of the complete refurbishment of this stunning townhouse in Richmond, we supplied installed a total of 9 timber double glazed box sash windows.
This splendid Victorian townhouse in Richmond underwent complete renovation through the Spring of 2026. Having undertaken work for this client at their previous home, we were delighted to be commissioned to replace all of the windows as part of the overall project.
We supplied and fitted a total of 9 sash windows throughout the property. Paying particular attention to match the design, detailing and proportions of the original windows.
The new sash windows were made entirely of Accoya timber. With it's exceptional durability and structural stability Accoya is the ideal choice when it comes to manufacturing new windows and doors.
Glazed with a 22mm double glazed unit the new windows provide excellent thermal efficiency. Combined with the discreet draught-proofing system, sound-proofing was drastically improved helping to nullify noise pollution.
Trickle vents were installed int he new windows to comply with current building regulations. But SashWise's discreet trickle vent system meant that they did not detract from the beauty and elegance of the new windows.
All of the glass was toughened providing added safety and security.
Elegant window ironmongery was fitted throughout.
A very attractive feature to the front ground floor sash window, was the inclusion of internal timber shutters. Housed within an additional box frame on the inside of the sash window, the vertically sliding shutters operate on the same weights, cords and pulley system as the sashes.
The shutters not only complement the aesthetics of the sash window, they provide added security and a beautiful window furnishing, eliminating the need for curtains or blinds.
Following discussions with the client we decided to apply a stained finish to the shutters, to create a charming contrast against the sash window.
The below before, during and after photographs clearly show the transformation.
I have used SashWise twice to replace windows. The second time was to replace all of the windows for a complete house refurbishment. I found Dan and his team to be very helpful, and keen to do an excellent job. For example, Dan arranged for me to view a previous completed project, which was helpful in making a decision. I am particularly pleased with the quality of the new internal timber shutters in my Victorian house front window. The windows installed are elegant and well made. I would not hesitate to recommend SashWise.
