Arched Timber Front Door & Casement Window Installed in Rotary Court

SashWise supplied and installed a new Accoya timber double glazed front door and casement window to an apartment in the elegant residential development Rotary Court.

Rotary Court

Rotary Court resides upon part of the grounds that historically formed part of a large country house known as East Molesey Court. The estate was owned by several wealthy families during the 19th century, including the Dowager Lady Clinton.

The original mansion was demolished in 1876 and the present-day Rotary Court is an early Victorian building that was built on part of the historic site. It served as an auxiliary hospital for military personnel during both World Wars.

With its prime location overlooking Hampton Court Green, the River Thames and Hampton Court Palace, the building was converted into private apartments in 2008.

Over recent years SashWise has had the privilege of upgrading the timber windows and doors to numerous apartments within the building.

Project Overview

Having previously worked for this client we were pleased to be tasked with replacing the front door and adjoining casement window.

The unique arched openings to both the door and and the window added an interesting design element.

We constructed the new window and door solely from Accoya timber, with its uncompromising durability Accoya timber is our material of choice for all our new joinery.

The window and door were fully finished using Teknos spray paint system, a micro-porous paint providing exceptional weatherproofing.

Fully draught-proofed and glazed with a 22mm double glazed unit, both the door and the window afford excellent thermal efficiency alongside superior noise insulation.

All of the glass was toughened offering improved safety and security and a full range of high quality period ironmongery was fitted to both the new window and door.

The end result was a vast improvement to the aesthetic look of the front facade of the apartment, combined with a significant enhancement in both thermal and noise insulation. This is clearly depicted in the below before and after photographs.
