At this impressive townhouse in Teddington, we installed a combination of complete new Accoya double glazed sash windows alongside restoring some of the original sash boxes and fitting new double glazed sashes within them.
Where the original sash boxes were being retained, these were stripped back to the timber, filled, sanded and then painted throughout with Zinsser paint system.
For the windows that were being completely replaced, these were carefully removed and the window aperture was cleaned. New Accoya sash boxes were installed and the exterior pointing around the new windows was meticulously matched to the rest of the building.
New internal timber reveals, architrave and deep window boards were fitted.
Accoya double glazed sashes were fitted within both the new sash boxes and the restored original boxes. A draught-proof system was installed on all of the windows to aid both thermal and noise insulation.
The finish coats to all of the windows was Teknos 'Antique White' and Polished Brass ironmongery was fitted throughout.
We paid particular attention to ensure that the detailing for the different elements of this project was consistent, so that both complete new windows and the new sashes into the original boxes complimented each other.
We had 5 sash windows refurbished or replaced by SashWise. We are equally pleased with the results of both. The fitters were polite, considerate, tidy and the company was communicative and responsive. We are hoping for years of maintenance free use. We would happily recommend SashWise.
