At this property in Kew, we fully restored the original sash boxes and fitted new Accoya timber sashes within them, with a slimline double glazed unit.
The yellow glow coming from the windows in the thermal image before the installation highlights the high level of heat loss through the original single panes of glass.
In contrast the darker shading of the windows in the thermal image taken after the installation depicts the reduction in heat loss and improved thermal efficiency as a result of the insulation provided by the new double glazed sashes.
It is also interesting to see in the after thermal image the continual heat loss through the glass of the front door which was not upgraded.
