In the early part of 2026, we upgraded the sash windows throughout this magnificent townhouse in Chiswick. In conjunction with installing new Accoya double glazed sashes we fully replaced the very unusual eyedrop casement windows to the front and rear roofline.
Unlike the more common dormer roof window, eyedrop windows have a distinctive low wide angular shape and are integrated into the roof surface, creating a very organic seamless look to the window.
By replicating the original windows, we were able to vastly improve the thermal efficiency and sound insulation, alongside ensuring longevity and minimal ongoing maintenance, without compromising this rare and premium architectural feature.
This was a challenging project because of the different angles and parallel lines of the Eyedrop windows. But we were extremely happy with the end result and the below images clearly show the vast improvement in the new windows compared to the old.
